Who are we ?

We are an organization that believes that the voices and the energies of young people are vital for the development of our society! This is a flagship of the organization where we work to promote youth political and civic participation by enhancing capacities of young people to engage in democracy discourse, sharpen their abilities to voice and polish their skills to negotiate and reduce fear. We offer special trainings for youths on leadership skills and governance and accountability. ARUWE enhances the capacities and facilitates dialogues in the areas of democratic governance, women’s human rights, transparency, and accountability within these groups as we seek to support women to have equal say in decision making bodies, dialogues, forum at villages and at district levels. Also we seek to train and mentor women who wish to become effective political leaders. ARUWE also provides election and Voter education, encourages men and women to participate in election process, young people are in particular supported to understand and participate meaningfully in democracy processes.

Why our organization ?

ARUWE is also concerned with personal security, freedom, dignity and opportunities of the marginalized; people living with HIV/AIDS, the vulnerable young men and women. The organization facilitates the teaching of the history, theoretical foundation, critical issues and law of human rights. We seek to impart knowledge and skills on citizen accountability and human rights advocacy and strategies for actions from a Rights Based Perspective (RBP) where these special groups are placed at the center of the designing advocacy strategies on issues that affect their welfare and wellbeing. We work with the Community Groups to monitor public resources through accountability seeking tools including Public Expenditure Tracking (PETs), Social Accountability Monitoring System, and Community Score Card through a Rights Based Approach (RBA).
