Dar Taka (waste) Initiative (DTI) is a project coordinated by AHRN, with the permission and full collaboration of the Ministry of State, Union and Environment as well Districts and local governance in Dar es Salaam.

In this project, partners have taken a challenge to make Dar es Salaam the cleanest city in Africa by 2030.

• Increasing awareness among community members and visitors on responsible waste disposal.
• Monthly clean-up events.
• Installation of dustbins (80% made by recycled material) in public areas and beaches.
• Well-coordinated sorting, collection and transport of solid waste from public areas and beaches.
• Waste Recycling Site.
